This issue includes reports from Columbia, NYPL, North Carolina State, Penn
State, Princeton, Stanford, Berekeley, Illinois, Penn, Tennessee, Texas,
Virginia, and Yale.
Highlights in the Director's report include:
- Academic Image Cooperative - a version of the final report submitted by
the DLF to The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for its work on the Academic
Image Cooperative
- DLF registry databases - links to web searchable databases respectively
including descriptions of and links to members' online digital collections
and strategies, policies, technical reports and working papers
- Open Archives initiative (metadata harvesting) - a full account of the
DLF's role in supporting the Open Archive initiative and in helping to
develop a number of innovative Internet portal services built upon the
technical framework that the initiative supplies
- Standards and good practices - an account of the DLF's developing role in
identifying and promoting adoption of those good and best practices that
support libraries in their collection and management of high-quality,
interchangeable electronic information resources
A feature article by Ann-Marie Parsons reflects on preliminary results of an
investigation into how members are assessing use of online collections and
services.
