Subject: ARL workshop on data sets on the web
Apologies for cross-posting.
Register for the highly acclaimed workshop facilitated by Patrick Yott,
Director of Digital Services Integration, on "Electronic Publishing of
Data Sets on the World Wide Web," March 12-14, 2001, Fort Collins, CO
http://db.arl.org/workshops/sregform.html
This workshop will provide a model for providing interactive access to
numeric data over the internet. The workshop will explore the following
functional and programming areas: data documentation through the Data
Documentation Initiative (DDI), XML and XSL presentation of variable level
metadata, using PERL for preparing CGI scripts, and interacting with
statistical and database packages via a web session. Participants should
be thoroughly familiar with HTML tagging, including frames and table tags.
Familiarity with SQL or SPSS helpful but not required. This is a hands-on
computer training workshop.
