Apologies for cross posting
The delayed January 2001 edition of the DLF Newsletter is now available from
http://www.clir.org/diglib/pubs/news02_01/index.htm
The edition includes updates on developments at the California Digital
Library, Cornell University, Harvard University, the Library of Congress,
University of Michigan, and a new report from the University of Southern
California.
The edition also includes a report from the DLF Office of the Director. The
report documents progress with ongoing DLF initiatives (e.g. Open Archives
Initiatives, AIC/ArtSTOR, reference linking, review of best practice
recommendations) while introducing a number of new DLF initiatives
including:
- to design and possibly prototype a cataloguing tool for visual resources,
- to design and possibly prototype a service to register digitized
monographs and journals;
- to develop standards for describing technical, structural, and
administrative characteristics of digital objects;
- to investigate changing patterns of library use.
Regards,
Dan
