DLF FORUM, FALL 2001
ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS
Apologies for cross posting
*********************
The DLF Forum is held twice a year to enrich, stimulate, and inform the work
of staff at DLF member institutions, and to showcase and gain input into DLF
initiatives.
Forums include a mix of plenary and breakout sessions and provide ample
opportunity for informal discussion during breaks, communal meals, and the
forum reception.
The DLF Fall Forum 2001 will be held in Pittsburgh at the Marriott City
Center Hotel on November 16-18,2001 (for more information including
registration and other logistical details see
http://www.diglib.org/forums/fall2001/fall2001.htm)
Papers and panel discussions will deal with all aspects of digital library
development, maintenance, and use.
Staff at DLF member institutions are invited to register for the Forum by
sending their names, titles, and institutional affiliations to
[log in to unmask] by 29 October 2001.
Staff are also invited to submit proposals for papers and panel discussions
dealing with any aspects of their work on digital libraries. Papers and
panel discussions, for example, may deal with architectural and technical
issues; the development, maintenance and use of digital collections; digital
preservation; digital library standards and best practices; user needs'
assessment; the changing roles, organizations, and policy environments in
which libraries are developing; etc.
Proposals for presentations should be brief (c.250 words) and supply a title
and short abstract.
Proposals for panel discussions may be slightly longer. They should supply a
title for the panel, a brief description of its purpose and a list of
participants' names. Where appropriate, they may also supply a title and a
brief description of individual panelists' presentations.
Proposals should be submitted by email to [log in to unmask] by September
28, 2001.
We very much look forward to receiving your proposals and to seeing you in
Pittsburgh.
With kind regards,
Dan
