I'm pleased to announce the appointment of James Bullen as NYU
Digital Library Head.
James joins NYU from the National Library of Australia where he recently
led a team in the successful implementation of Libraries Australia -
Australia's national union catalog service. He brings a wealth of
experience in digital libraries from his time at the NLA where he helped
to forge a strong application and systems development capacity and
contributed significantly to the NLA's reputation as a leader in digital
library technology.
James is not a newcomer to New York, having spent two years at Columbia
University where he established a team of developers and analysts
focused on digital library and electronic publishing applications.
Working with DKV (Digital Knowledge Ventures) and EPIC (Electronic
Publishing Initiative at Columbia), he and his team contributed to many
successful publications such as: Columbia American History Online,
Earthscape, and Columbia Interactive.
James will be starting at NYU in mid-March.
