PerX Shared Services Report Now Available
One of the aims of the PerX project <http://www.icbl.hw.ac.uk/perx/> (one of
the Digital Repositories Programme projects) is to investigate the practical
management and maintenance issues associated with enabling resource discovery
across multiple digital repository collections. Associated with this is an
objective to analyse the suitability of JISC infrastructural shared services
for use within the PerX Pilot cross-search service
<http://www.engineering.ac.uk/>, and experiment with the incorporation of
sufficiently mature services.
A Shared Services report is now available from PerX which provides overviews,
usage scenarios and implementation reports (where available) for
infrastructural shared services identifed as being of relevance to the project.
These include Service Registries, Identifier and Resolver Services, Terminology
Services, and Metadata Schema Registries.
The report is available at: <http://www.icbl.hw.ac.uk/perx/sharedservices.htm>.
More deliverables from PerX are available from:
Please note that the PerX Pilot servers are being upgraded at the moment. This
has no effect on the above documents, but searches of the actual Pilot may not
return accurate results for a few days.
