HEAD OF DIGITAL MEDIA AND LIBRARY TECHNOLOGIES
The Dartmouth College Library seeks an energetic, service-oriented leader to
provide strategic direction for both the Jones Media Center and the Digital
Library Technologies Group. Reporting to the Associate Librarian for
Information Management, this position has responsibility for many aspects of
media services and library technologies (directly supervising eight
positions within a total staff of 11.75 FTE positions and many student
employees); provides vision for the application of instructional technology
and new media in higher education and ensures highly responsive service to
the users of the Media Center; leads the Digital Library Technologies Group,
who are responsible for the development, installation, operation, and
maintenance of the technologies supporting the Digital Library; and exerts
collaborative leadership within multi-divisional teams to support
Dartmouth's mission. This position ensures a high level of visibility for
the Library on campus and at the national level through active participation
in campus life, library consortia, and in national professional
organizations. The Head of Digital Media and Library Technologies serves on
library-wide committees and is a member of the Library Management Group.
QUALIFICATIONS: A graduate degree in a related field. A minimum of 5 years
leading complex technology-driven teams in an academic setting. Demonstrated
ability to manage complex, long-term projects. Demonstrated public service
commitment; excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills;
and the ability to work collegially in a team environment.
RANK AND SALARY: The position is part of the Librarian Classification System
of Professional Ranks. Salary is commensurate with experience. Full benefits
package including 22 vacation days; comprehensive health care; retirement
plans, including TIAA-CREF; and relocation assistance.
