Hello everyone,

Mary Vardigan was kind enough to help us put together the start of a
charter customized for our group - see the attached file. We'll use
this as the basis for our discussion tomorrow.

There's a section in the charter that lists our working group members.
We realize that as these groups have just formed its very likely that
we may not have an accurate list yet - apologies if we left anyone off
the list. We'll try to get an accurate list over the course of the
next month.

thanks,
Andrea

Each of the NDSA working groups is completing one of of these scope statements before mid-December. It includes items such as our scope of work and when and how we'll meet.

>> Hello fellow NDSA Standards Group people! I just spoke with my Standards Group Co-Chair Andrea Goethals about our next steps for this working group. We'd like to schedule an hour-long conference call with all of you (or as many of you as can make it - we understand how difficult it is to schedule for a group of people this size). I've created a Doodle poll here:
>>
>> http://doodle.com/z25trer9nksumryy
>>
>> Please click on the hour blocks in which you are free. We'll figure out which hour most people are free and we'll schedule the meeting for that time. We tried to be sensitive to the needs of the people on the West Coast so we scheduled afternoon EST hours.
>>
>> We'd like to talk about a couple things. First, we want to work out a good draft of our Working Group Scope Statement. Attached you'll see a loose outline that our compatriots in the Outreach Working Group have already started working with. I think this would be a good "spine" upon which to hang our ideas. To that end Andrea and I would like you all to look at this document and come up with some ideas of how we can personalize it for our group. Specifically we want to plug in our ideas for "Action Teams" in the Participation section.
>>
>> This is a good opportunity to once again plug the IdeaScale space for our working group (go to http://ndsa.ideascale.com/ and click on the "Standards Working Group" link on the left side of the page). If you haven't done so already, please check out the ideas we have here and vote on them. And please, if you have any ideas you'd like to add, please add them so we can vote on them. These ideas will be at least some of the work that the Action Teams will be doing. It's our goal that the Action Teams will do work that will yield concrete results (we can talk about what these may be in our conference call next week) by Summer 2011. Once Andrea and I have heard from  you next week she and I will put together a strong draft of our Scope Statement. It's our plan to meet with you again early December (likely the week of Dec. 6-10) to get your thoughts on the draft.
>>
>> The other thing we want to talk about at our phone meeting next week is scheduling regular meetings for this group.
>>
>> Once we agree upon a time for our phone meeting next week I will disseminate the date and time as well as the phone bridge information. In the meantime, please go to the Doodle poll and put in your free times and take a look at the attached document and the IdeaScale space. Andrea and I are looking forward to talking with all of you!
