Hello all. Thanks to all of you who could make it to yesterday's Standards group meeting. Scroll down for information on accessing the recording of the WebEx.
I did not take extensive notes since most of the meeting consisted of looking through the excellent survey template that Andrea, Kate, Shane and Meg put together. There was some discussion of the "commentary" section and how best to implement it. Shane also voiced some concerns about the lack of repeatable elements in some of the fields. The group came to the consensus, however, that the survey spreadsheet (in our Google Docs space - if you can't access it please email Andrea to get access) as it exists is good enough to start surveying standards.
I think that at this point it's time to start organizing the work within action teams. Phone calls and email chains between action teams would probably be the best way to communicate within teams. At next month's meeting (and subsequent meetings over the coming months) we'll take time for each action team to update us with their work. It would be a good idea maybe a week or so before each monthly working group meeting to review what you want to update us about and choose the person who will be giving the update. This could also be an email to the Standards working group email list if time gets away from you or no one from the team can make the meeting.
So at this point I would say "go forth and do great work!" And I will too!
Best, Jimi
