The example I just mentioned on the call is
http://annarborchronicle.com/about-us/
I mentioned this as an example which is a meld of local government, news,
citizen journalism, professional journalism, blogging. What they are doing
is quite extraordinary, in part due to the level of detail they report. They
are using wordpress. They take seriously their long-term responsibility to
the community. Note that Ann Arbor's long running print newspaper (Ann Arbor
News) closed down a few years ago. I am not sure how this could be useful to
the group, but I think it serves as an interesting, if not directly useful,
example of potentially at-risk content, created by people who recognize the
risk as well. Perhaps there are hundreds of similar examples and this is
just the one in my backyard, but I'm inclined to think not.
full disclosure: These folks are my friends and I advertise a business I own
on their site.
