Hi Everyone,
I hope your summer has been off to a good start. Today I am excited to announce our official Save-The-Date for the 2nd Annual Virtual Fedora Showcase! After the success of last year’s event, we are gearing up for another round of this free, virtual event, bringing together Fedora users from all around the world. If you missed last year’s event, you can read more about it here, and find links to all of the recordings - https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/FF/2023+Virtual+Fedora+Showcase.
What is the Virtual Fedora Showcase?
This is a “Showcase-style” virtual event where users and community members gather to share work they have been doing within their institutions over the past months. Through a series of ½ day virtual sessions, we provide opportunities for users to share their work, engage in discussion with peers, learn, listen and reconnect with the Fedora community.
Save-the-Date: October 1-3, 2024 (number of days is dependent on interest and quantity of proposals/activities)
Next Steps
• We will be sending out a call for presentation ideas in the coming weeks. Understanding that summer is in full swing, we want to ensure you have sufficient time to consider what you would like to present during the October event.
• Remember – even if you think your work isn’t exciting or interesting, I promise there is someone else out there who would find value in what you are doing!
• Keep your eyes open for emails with more details surrounding confirmed dates/times, how to register, how to get involved.
We have been extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to connect with some of you face-to-face during the last year, but this virtual event is an opportunity for EVERYONE to reconnect. The energy and enthusiasm following last year’s event has been the driving force behind this renewed sense of commitment to Fedora and it’s community. Help us build on that energy and join us for the 2024 Virtual Fedora Showcase!
Cheers,
Arran
