A miscellany of DLF publication news: FALL 2003 NEWSLETTERS Those that are in hand are now up at http://www.diglib.org/pubs/news04_01/index.htm Many thanks to Michael Pelikan (Penn State) for editing these, and we look forward to completing the set soon (apologies if you have turned one in to Michael recently and you do not see it here -- it is still in the editing queue). The newsletters are worth reading through in their entirety -- they provide a wonderful affirmation of how much we are achieving individually and in partnership, and make the distributed library plans all the more important and exciting. The databases of collections and publications, derived from these newsletters, are being updated by Cassie right now, and will be loaded as soon as she is finished. ARCHIVING ELECTRONIC JOURNALS http://www.diglib.org/preserve/ejp.htm Linda Cantara (Indiana University) has edited these seven lengthy Mellon-funded reports from last year, and has provided an introduction. These are newly released here, and will be available as a printed volume in the New Year. DIGITAL LIBRARY AGGREGATION SERVICES http://www.diglib.org/pubs/brogan/ A postscript to last week's note about Martha Brogan's splendid report on aggregation services -- I noticed at the weekend that it is slow to load the whole report over a modem, and I will subdivide it later today. DLF WEB SITE As I hope you did *not* notice, the DLF and CLIR have moved their websites from one commercial hosting company to another in recent weeks, to go with a larger company who can offer us richer services (better web forms for Forum registration; better listserv programs; better reporting). Over the Christmas and New Year I will be moving the DLF site to a new web design, one section at a time. Apologies in advance if you experience any access problems or aesthetic confusion during this transition -- it will be done as fast as I can do it. Best wishes, David
