Thanks for the reply. I see from the listserv that Roy Zimmer who has a Voyager system and korn shell the same as at Yale also had the same problem, so I guess that settles it. I'm posting this back to the listserv as confirmation. (unix shells are like standards ... there are soo many to choose from.)
