Variations3 is seeking a software architect to design and develop this exciting new system, one that will eventually be released as open source. Variations3 will provide students and faculty with online access to and annotation of digitized music via streaming audio and scanned scores. Support for streaming video is also being considered. An XML-based metadata model designed specifically for searching music collections underlies these functions and is supported by custom tools for digitizers and catalogers.
