In April 2006, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation hosted a meeting – sponsored by Mellon, Microsoft, CNI, JISC, and DLF – to explore standards and protocols necessary for greater interoperability across repositories.  Don Waters has just today posted the final report of this meeting at http://msc.mellon.org/Meetings/Interop/FinalReport . 

 

It is a relatively short document and I recommend it to any of you interested in cross-repository interoperability, and the digital library and scholarly communications benefits that can come from such large-scale connectivity.
