The DLF Aquifer metadata working group announces the release of the Digital Library Federation / Aquifer Implementation Guidelines for Shareable MODS Records. The document, with an accompanying release announcement letter is available along with links to other DLF Aquifer products at: http://www.diglib.org/aquifer/products.htm As the letter explains, the guidelines are focused on creating MODS records for shared records, with end-user services in mind. Within DLF Aquifer, service levels will be linked to levels of compliance with the guidelines as MODS records are harvested. The DLF Aquifer metadata working group will host a birds-of-a-feather session focusing on the guidelines at the upcoming DLF Fall Forum in Boston next week.
