OCLC Online Computer Library Center, Inc. is a nonprofit, membership,

preserve library materials.

The OCLC Openly Informatics Division, acquired by OCLC in January
2006, is a leader in the development and maintenance of  linking
software and knowledgbases and is based in  in Bloomfield, New
Jersey.  Openly Informatics has been a technology leader and provides
OpenURL solutions to customers around the globe.  We are currently
seeking a Senior Software Engineer in our Bloomfield, New Jersey
office..

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for maintaining,
extending and developing Openly's link-server software and will take
the software development lead in new service initiatives.

- Create, analyze, design, modify and test programs and systems
- Use industry standard programming techniques to translate
requirements & designs into code
- Analyze and solve problems in existing systems
- Design, code and test multiple modules of a system in a timely manner
- Participate in unit, system and acceptance testing by designing
tests, building test data, test execution and evaluation
- Assist in developing and interpreting requirements
- Follow all OCLC ISO-9000 procedures and the SDLC and suggest
improvements, as they pertain to their work unit
- Follow & implement all relevant ISO and NISO standards at the
software development level
- Implement approved third party solutions into OCLC applications
with the ability to understand the impact and analyze the risk

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science-related discipline
- Skills usually represented by 2-4 years of software development or
project management experience
- Work experience with Java, MySQL, Servlets and Unicode
- Successfully implemented at least one significant area of
functionality or can successfully manage small projects or
sub-projects ($20,000-$100,000)
