LAC seeks a Library Technician for a long term project in New Orleans, Louisiana that will last approximately 2 years. The Technician will key bibliographic data from books and other materials, match materials to their descriptions, determine when a new record must be created for given materials, shift materials from pallets to shelves, and keeping materials in designated order. Required Qualifications: * Two years of study at an accredited college or university; * Strong computer skills; * Ability to work independently, in team, and in a challenging project oriented and multitasking environment; * Demonstrated library experience in cataloging or other technical services area ; * Familiarity with LC classification and ISBD punctuation, MARC tags, indicators and subfields; * Significant experience with OCLC ; * Experience in data entry, * Attention to detail and ability to focus well with time constraints and competing priorities; * Ability to proofread spelling and other errors in data; Desired Qualifications * Experience with an integrated library system, preferably ENDEAVOR. * Spanish or other language skills.
