Cornell Library is excited to announce a new senior-level position,
Chief Technology Strategist (CTS). If you know of individuals who would

Reporting directly to the University Librarian and serving as a key
member of the senior management team, the CTS will:
- Participate in the development of a shared vision for CUL’s future
that supports the mission of the University and is responsive to the
changing information needs of its constituents.
- Create and articulate an evolving technology strategy to support that
vision, with ongoing input from key stakeholders
- Identify the requisite technical solutions and priorities to achieve
this strategy
- Effectively communicate shared vision throughout CUL and the
University’s IT environment
- Assess IT trends and innovations that will impact library directions
- Represent the library in collaborative technology initiatives across
the University and in national and international efforts
- Expand the library’s contributions to e-research and provide
leadership in the development of a University cyberinfrastructure
- Plan and direct collaborative research and development efforts with
Computing and Information Sciences, Cornell Information Technology,
Cornell Center for Advanced Computing, and other appropriate partners
within and beyond Cornell
- Enhance CUL’s reputation as a leading research library for the
21st century
Formal affiliation with the Information Science Program in the Cornell
Faculty of Computing and Information Science for appropriately
credentialed candidate, and academic rank dependent on education and
experience.
