The Hennepin County Library System <http://www.hclib.org/> currently serves over 750,000 residents of suburban Hennepin County through 26 libraries, two Children's Readmobiles, Outreach services and extensive services on the web. Consistently rated as one of the top large public libraries in county, the Library is very heavily used with an annual circulation of over 13 million. In May 2007, the Minnesota Legislature passed legislation that would allow the consolidation of Hennepin County Library and Minneapolis Public Library <http://www.mplib.org/> systems.
