Dear colleagues, This is part of an Arcadia-funded study on non-Roman script functionality in VuFind and other Solr-powered discovery systems. Do you have any Chinese, Korean, or Japanese language specialists at your institution to whom you could pass along this brief survey (see link below)? They don’t need to have had direct experience with Lucene/Solr since this is really more about usability than the underlying technology. The purpose of this survey is to better understand how Chinese, Japanese and Korean scripts should be displayed and searched in library online catalogs and databases at North American libraries (not only “Yufind”). Your participation in this survey will help us identify the major issues, set priority and develop ideas towards solutions.
