With apologies for cross-posting...

Deepen your digital preservation knowledge with a new offering from LYRASIS.   Join us for Staying on TRAC: Digital Preservation Implications and Solutions for Cultural Heritage Institutions at the LYRASIS offices in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 15-16, 2011 (pre-workshop webinars begin January 24, 2011).

Staying on TRAC is targeted toward representatives from organizations who have acquired or created digital content and are now ready to address the issue of long term access to digital collections by partnering with other organizations. These partnerships can be existing or newly forming intra- or inter-institutional collaborative efforts for digital preservation.

The session will cover key digital preservation planning topics including:

 * assessing your local situation;

 * determining your organizational, functional, and technical needs;

 * matching needs to current digital preservation solutions.

The workshop helps participants develop their own digital preservation planning document, and allows time for group exercises and feedback.  Faculty for the workshop includes digital preservation experts Robin Dale (LYRASIS), Liz Bishoff (The Bishoff Group), Priscilla Caplan (Florida Center for Library Automation), Katherine Skinner (MetaArchive), and Tom Clareson (LYRASIS).

In addition to the on-site class, there are three mandatory Pre-Workshop Webinars scheduled for January 24, 25, and 27.  A series of six post-class webinars will allow additional time to consider current digital preservation services and complete a written digital preservation plan.
