This is the second installment of our working group updates series. If you have colleagues who are interested in participating in a working group, if you'd like to switch groups yourself, or if you're over committed and would like to remove yourself from a group, please, please contact the appropriate LC co-chair.

Infrastructure Working Group
Co-Chairs: Karen Cariani ([log in to unmask]) and Leslie Johnston ([log in to unmask])
The NDSA Infrastructure Working Group has identified two top areas where we would like to identify best practices:

 * Investigate, recognize, and document potential preservation emerging practices in the use of large-scale storage and cloud infrastructures.

 * Investigate, share, and recognize emerging practices for use and development and sharing of open source tools and other software that enable digital preservation.

The group is beginning its work with cloud infrastructure, and has decided to undertake its efforts as a whole-group project, rather than identify an Action Team. The group has identified community projects that we would like to hear from, as well as industry service providers. In mid-February, the group will launch a series of WebEx presentations, each of which will be framed by the same set of questions, to help identify common and disparate practices.
