Job Description: Reporting to the Web and Digital Services Specialist, the Digital Imaging Technologist provides technical support for digital library projects and services. These include digital systems, creation of digital information content, digitization and transfer of analog content, and archiving of digital files. Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to: * Providing digital content to the Library's digital repository, image collections, website,and archival collections; * Working with Digital Content Management Work Group to plan and coordinate digital archiving; * Creating and preparing images for the Library's image collection; * Assisting in the organization and storage of digitized materials as well as the preparation of images for upload to the digital asset management system. * This is a part-time (20 hours) PSSA Clerical Union position. Requirements: A Bachelor's degree (preferably in Art History, Architecture, or a related field) from an accredited institution of higher education is required as well as, 1-2 years of experience with digital collections. Basic to intermediate knowledge of photography is necessary. Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge of digitization standards, processes, and workflows. Basic knowledge of metadata creation and structure for digital collections is required as well as strong attention to detail with a high level of organizational and time management skills. Demonstrable computing skills such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Drupal, and Shared Shelf are necessary to be successful in this position. 1 - 2 years of experience with digital asset management systems is preferred. At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
