**Purpose**  
Responsible for the development, maintenance, compliance, and continuity of a
comprehensive website and directly related websites for the Dolph Briscoe
Center for American History under the direction of the digital project
manager.

  
**Essential Functions**  
Provide programming and technical support in both the evaluation and re-
purposing of existing web applications and development of new applications for
the public and staff websites. Develop user-friendly, standards-compliant
application interfaces. Ensure compliance with applicable policies on website
usage, security, accessibility, and standards. Develop new Web pages and sub-
sites, create/modify/style site content within existing departmental site
structures. Compile reports of usage statistics and evaluate site
quality/efficiency within established UT Web standards and security policies.
Attend meetings and/or participate in consultations with departmental clients
concerning site/application maintenance, modification, and design. Adapt
conventional information resources to internet purposes, using web applicable
language skills. Keep current with Web development trends, standards, and
technologies.

Licenses: Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must
provide a current three year Driving Record from the current state of
residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's
License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.

  
**Required qualifications**  
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Graphic Art, or
related field. Two to three years of professional webmaster or web maintenance
experience. One year experience with MySQL/PHP, Javascript, and Drupal
developments. Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, RSS, and XML. One year of systems
design, analysis and programming or developing web based applications.
Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted
as appropriate.

**Preferred Qualifications**  
Experience providing programming support in an academic environment.
Experience building web databases. Experience with SASS and Compass.
Experience with XSLT. Knowledge of web application security considerations.
Website management experience. Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial and
collaborative manner as well as to meet challenging situations with
flexibility (meet deadlines). Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and
effectively, in writing and in oral presentation. Demonstrated professional
demeanor and appearance.

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under
consideration for this position.

  
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas
(TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length.
