The ETD Lifecycle Management project, funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), is pleased to launch a public review of the project's Lifecycle Management Tools. These are a documented suite of both new and existing open-source tools for better managing ETDs. About the ETD Lifecycle Management Tools The Lifecycle Management Tools are a documented suite of tools to address four areas of ETD management: Virus Checking - ClamAV File Format Identifciation - Droid, Unix file, FITS, and JHOVE2 Preservation Metadata - PREMIS Event Service ETD Submission - ETD Drop The manual documents the purpose of each tool, recommends where to deploy them in a workflow, and explains how to use the tools. About the Project Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and led by the University of North Texas, in partnership with the Networked Digital Library of Theses & Dissertations (NDLTD) and Educopia Institute, the ETD Lifecycle Management project is promoting best practices and improving the capacity of academic libraries to preserve ETDs for future researchers.
