Call for entries: Frankfurt Book Fair and Goethe-Unibator announce their
second ideas competition for digital publishing

Frankfurt, 15 May 2014 Ð For the second time, the Frankfurt Book Fair
(8Ð12 October 2014) and the Goethe-Unibator are inviting entries to the
Digital Publishing Creative Ideas Competition (#dpc14).

The search is on for innovative ideas and creative approaches in digital
publishing Ð more specifically, in the field of content production. ÒWeÕre
looking for smart solutions in content production,Ó says Holger Volland, VP
Media Industries at the Frankfurt Book Fair. ÒThis could include, for
instance, tools, platforms, services or other concepts that allow users to
create, share, distribute and improve content.Ó Possible examples could be
web supported self-publishing platforms, automated content creation, tools
for user-generated content and much more besides. With the Digital
Publishing Ideas Competition, the organisers want to provide a forum for
unconventional thinkers and visionaries Ð a place where they can shape
tomorrowÕs content production in diverse ways and with open minds.

ÒWeÕre delighted to be able to continue our cooperation with the Frankfurt
Book Fair,Ó says Professor Roberto V. Zicari, Director of the
Goethe-Unibator. ÒThe Digital Publishing Creative Ideas Competition offers
an excellent opportunity for teams working on innovative ideas and products
to present their projects to the public.Ó

An expert jury will select the five most outstanding concepts. These will
be presented prior to the Frankfurt Book Fair, in the context of the CONTEC
conference, on Tuesday 7 October. The finalists will each have a few
minutes to present their ideas to the audience, during which time they will
be allowed to use appropriate presentation tools. The members of the jury
attending on the day will then award prizes to the three best ideas.
