I had a student job in ILL while a grad student in music, and kept working in ILL while getting interested in IT & programming. Some of my early personal ILL process hacks accidentally became depended upon in production, and so I had to go pro to maintain them :) Having worked much of my career in libraries, the few years I spent away made it clear I had gained a lot of special domain knowledge in library systems.
