Bates College seeks to hire a Curricular Technology Consultant who will collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to enrich teaching, learning, and scholarship through the effective use of established and emerging digital technologies and methods. As a member of the Curricular and Research Computing group, the Curricular Technology Consultant will provide specialized as well as general technology support to further the academic mission of the college: the successful candidate will support faculty in the pedagogical application of a range of available resources (tablets and mobile devices, Apple TV, class capture, student response systems, etc); provide instruction in the best and innovative uses of current web-based services (including Moodle, Google Apps, WordPress, etc.); and initiate and contribute to academic technology projects that promote the curricular engagement of quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

Rather than training in a specific academic discipline, the position requires intellectual curiosity, the ability to analyze problems from multiple perspectives, and the capacity to apply knowledge creatively in new contexts.

Preferred qualifications include experience teaching, supporting technology in an educational environment, using standard quantitative or qualitative data analysis methods and tools, and/or project management experience.
