Digital Collections Archivist

The Chemical Heritage Foundation is recruiting for the
newly created position of Digital

Collections Archivist. The Digital Collections Archivist will work
collaboratively with the Chief

Curator of Archives and Manuscripts, as well as the Curator of Digital
Collections, to select and

process materials in the Beckman Legacy Archive for inclusion in our digital
repository and the

Beckman Legacy website. The Digital Collections Archivist
will work with the collection's

finding aid to select and recommend best practice guidelines for creating
item-level descriptive

metadata and will oversee the ingest and presentation of the objects and EAD
finding aids in

CHF's new Hydra repository.

  
**The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:**  

  * Master's degree in Library and/or Information Science, or a Master's degree in ArchivalStudies.
  * Strong command of archival theory and best practices related to both preservation andaccess.
  * Minimum of 2 years of experience processing digital collections and working with digitalasset management systems or repository software.
  * Strong working knowledge of data standards including EAD, DACS, Dublin Core,MODS, PREMIS and XML.
  * Previous experience with ArchivesSpace is a plus.
  * Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
