The Bunn Library serves the residential community of the Lawrenceville School,
a private co-educational boarding school located in Lawrenceville, New Jersey,
with 800 students in grade 9-12, over 130 resident faculty and their families,
and numerous school staff. The Lawrenceville School's Stephan Archives houses
materials related to the unique history of the school, including yearbooks,
newspapers, photographs, sound and video recordings, and

Job Description: The Digital Project Archivist is dedicated to the processing,
description and preservation of School records in both digital and analog
form. Top priorities include the development of a
systematic process for acquisition, appraisal, ingest, description,
preservation, provision of access and security of born-digital and hybrid
archival collections. The position would also be
responsible for the conversion of existing audio-visual and photograph
collections into accessible digital content. This position will work closely
with the School Archivist, Archives Assistant, Curator of Decorative Arts, and
Head of Technical Services to implement appropriate electronic records best
practices, standards and priorities. The candidate will be expected to produce
finding aids, MARC catalog records, and other access tools, as well as do work
relating to EAD development, digitization, and related technical issues. Other
responsibilities include reference service, community outreach, and assistance
with student researchers, as well as related duties as needed.

  
Skill Requirements (Minimum): Two years experience planning and managing a
digital archives program with knowledge of current trends, tools, best
practices, policy development, and issues associated with electronic records.
Experience with electronic records issues, network systems, data storage
methods, media, and security. Demonstrated ability to appraise, process, and
describe both analog and born digital historical records. Fluency with
relevant standards for archival description including DACS, EAD, Dublin Core,
METS, MODS, and MARC, as well as proficient computer literacy
skills. Strong decision-making and project management
skills, as well as public service or reference desk
experience. Excellent written and verbal communication
skills and the ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a
team environment.

  
Skill Preferences (Additional): Working knowledge of software systems such as
Archivists' Toolkit, Drupal, Fedora, ArchivesSpace, Archivematica, and
PastPerfect. Experience working with young people is preferred. Proficiency
with oral history programs also a plus.

  
Educational Requirements: Master's degree from an ALA-
accredited program with a concentration in archival management, digital
librarianship, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  
Salary Information: Commensurate with experience.
