Academic Preservation Trust System Administrator/Developer:
University of Virginia

The University of Virginia Library seeks a Systems Administrator/Developer to
support the ongoing operation and technical development that serve as the
foundation for the Academic Preservation Trust consortium's services to its
member institutions. We are looking for creative individuals who are excited
by the prospect of working at a forward-looking organization during times of

leadership in digital initiatives, the Library embraces respect, integrity,
inclusion, innovation and collaboration in our work within the University,
with peer institutions, and with the worldwide community. A staff of 220
manage 11 libraries that serve a vibrant and diverse scholarly community of
15,000 undergraduates, 6,000 graduate students, and 2,000 teaching and
research faculty, and visitors from the public and other institutions.

  
The Systems Administrator/Developer of the Academic Preservation Trust
(APTrust.org) consortium performs system administration and programming
related to the Trust's digital-preservation repository environment and other
technical environments associated with the Trust. The APTrust's host
institution is the University of Virginia, which serves as the employer of
record for the Trust's staff. The person in this role performs system
administration, operational support, and programming/development for the
APTrust systems, and related systems such as the Digital Preservation Network
(DPN.org). The APTrust is both an ingest node and a replicating node for DPN.

  
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education combined with
relevant experience. Five years of system administration / programming /
development in relevant operating system and application environments.

  
Salary and Benefits: Competitive depending on qualifications. This position
has University Staff status with excellent benefits, including 22 days of
vacation and TIAA/CREF and other retirement plans.
