Request for Proposals: Early Access web development, Civil War Governors of Kentucky Digital Documentary Edition Kentucky Historical Society Frankfort, Ky The Kentucky Historical Society seeks proposals for the web development of the Early Access phase of the Civil War Governors of Kentucky (CWG-K) Digital Documentary Edition. CWG-K seeks a stand-alone, Omeka website hosted by the Kentucky Historical Society (KHS). This website will provide access to approximately 10,000 historical documents through digital scans and searchable transcriptions. Users will access the documents by browsing through document collections and by operating keyword searches. Early Access will also lay the foundation for the development of the full CWG-K interface. The full interface will incorporate digital analytical tools including social network analysis and geographic information systems. After the completion of the Early Access interface, CWG-K seeks a detailed plan of work for the development of this more robust research platform, including: a TEI-XML schema, suggested modifications to the social and geographical networking capability of an open-source FileMaker database, and a detailed analysis of potential web interface platforms.
