(Apologies for cross-postings!) The University of Michigan Library is seeking a regular, full-time librarian to be a project manager, with experience in the creation of digital collections and the software and applications that are the base of those collections. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of librarians, programmers, and other experts on a major initiative to build a new digital library system architecture. The new system will make use of recent developments in the open source community and will handle a wide array of materials: text and images, video, music, research data sets, historical records, and more. This is an opportunity to join a skilled and forward thinking group, and to gain experience with modern technologies that support web-based research and preservation. The library is committed to recruiting and retaining a diverse workforce and encourages all employees to fully incorporate their diverse backgrounds, skills, and life experiences into their work and towards the fulfillment of the library's mission.
