*Job Title:* Analyst/Programmer *Closing Date/Time:* Fri. 05/19/17 11:59 PM Eastern Time *Salary:* $44,858.00 - $54,520.00 Annually *Job Type:* Full-Time *Location:* Central Library, 400 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 *Department:* IS *Description* The Enoch Pratt Free Library is looking for an experienced Analyst/Programmer to support the administration of the library's Integrated Library System and related software. *Summary of Duties* - Supports the Library's SirsiDynix/Symphony Integrated Library System (ILS), used to manage all library-related activities including cataloging, acquisitions, circulation (billing, customer records), online catalog and reports. - Works with staff to identify and implement ILS policies and customizations. - Responsible for the development and maintenance of interfaces between the ILS and other applications/systems. - Administers, configures, and optimizes applications and partner products, add-ons, and extensions. - Responds to and troubleshoots problems. - Uses other programming and shell languages as required to accomplish library project goals. Work includes on-call status, which may include weekends and holidays. - Remains current on latest enhancements and upgrades to software. - Analyzes and implements system modifications. - Serves as an administrator to the ILS and related software. - Maintains the online library of vendor manuals and documentation to reflect current and developmental versions of software. - Develops and maintains procedures and policies required for operation of the ILS. - Provides functional support and training for programs and processes related to the ILS. - Generates reports and statistics. - Develops database requirements and complex custom reports using products such as Microsoft SQL, MS Access, Excel and analytics. - Identities and implements recurring tasks and jobs to keep reporting and statistics current and available to library staff and managers. - Works with PC/desktop and network staff on ILS server and client installation and customization projects (non-SIRSI). * Minimum Requirements* Minimum two years’ experience in computer programming. Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Current enrollment in Bachelor's Degree program in Computer Science or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this job will be considered. *Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a customer-focused attitude is essential. Work experience with web browser display and application technologies (HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, Web Services and PERL), including usability and accessibility. Experience in relational database querying (SQL) and API programming. Demonstrated understanding of client/server environment, and experience with software applications needed to administer application environments including Microsoft Windows, UNIX/Linux, Oracle, and SQL Servers. Knowledge of RedHat Linux system administration and/or Apache configuration. Familiarity with ILS (preferably Symphony).
