Colleagues, On behalf of the VIVO 2017 Conference Task Force, I am pleased to invite you to attend the 8th Annual National VIVO Conference which will take place in New York City, NY USA from August 2nd to 4th. Invited speakers include James Hendler, who co-authored the pre-eminent article on the semantic web with Tim Berners-Lee, and Ying Ding, who teaches data science, researches bibliometrics and data-driven knowledge discovery, and who uses semantic web technologies in drug discovery. Anyone interested in linked open data should attend. Due to demand our first block of rooms has sold out, but I have secured additional hotel rooms in the Helmsley Tower, which is next door to Weill Cornell Medicine. There are a variety of rooms available within the block below $300 per night. The Annual VIVO conference brings together a community of scientists, scholars, technologists and higher education professionals from around the globe in order to promote the discovery of research beyond traditional disciplinary bounds.
