Friendly reminder -- Request for input on service management for the DLF Forum panel is due by Friday, 15 Sept 2017. Sincere thanks for the input received to date!

************

Hello DLF Forum Attendees,

Spurred by a burst of interest in the topic of service management on the DLF Project Managers list, a team of colleagues is presenting a panel at DLF Forum in Pittsburgh, “Service Management - Sharing Experiences and Defining a Community of Practice.” This panel will explore the developing community of practice for service management in digital library, archival and museum settings. (http://sched.co/Bzt4)

As a panel, we’d like to talk about what interests the community, so we’re asking for your help.

  * Do you manage a service offered by your library, archival repository, or museum, such as an institutional repository, digital collections platform, digital asset management system, or digitization services (to name a few)?

  * Are you a person who works with users to make sure a service meets their needs and translates these needs into technical specifications or ideas for future development?

  * When a service breaks, are you a person who makes sure it gets fixed and communicate with users what’s going on?

  * If someone notices a problem with a service, are you involved with reporting the problem and tracking progress on fixing it?

  * Are you a person who makes plans to upgrade your service and figures out when and how it should happen?

...then you might be involved in service management, and we would like your input for our panel at the DLF forum.

We have two questions we’d like you to answer, in free-form narrative fashion:

  * What does service management look like in your workplace?

  * What would you like to learn or find out more about, regarding service management, either during the Forum panel or more broadly?
