This is a call for proposals to the annual Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians 2018 Conference KEYNOTE SPEAKERS * Karen Estlund - Associate Dean for Technology and Digital Strategies, Penn State University Libraries * Bradford Lee Eden - Dean of Library Services, Christopher Center for Library and Information Resources, Valparaiso University THEME - Traditional Strengths. Transformational Growth. LOCATION - University of Notre Dame, Indiana DATES - May 13-15, 2018 WEBSITE - https://events.library.nd.edu/ovgtsl2018/ How do technical services in libraries convert traditional strengths into transformational growth? The Conference Program Committee invites innovative submissions in all areas of technical services librarianship including acquisitions, cataloging and metadata, serials, electronic resources, curation, preservation in academic, public, and special libraries. Applicants are encouraged to think broadly about what constitutes technical services and where traditional strengths of libraries may be adapted and utilized to confront contemporary challenges. Participants are invited to submit proposals that report on recent research, address emerging trends, or showcase new tools, services and projects. Time slots for all sessions are 50 minutes in length, including time for questions. Submissions for shorter presentations and round tables will be considered, as well. Submit the following information in our Google Form by January 22, 2018: * Title * Abstract (no longer than 100 words) * Names, affiliations, contact information, and short bios of all presenters * Primary contact for presenters Presenters will be notified of proposal acceptance by February 16, 2018.
