This morning, to cleanse my mind of Superbowl news, I googled ‘obscure sports’. I’ve honestly never been so delighted with search results before. Did you know shin-kicking is a thing? Cheese-rolling? Extreme ironing<https://www.thefactsite.com/2009/06/extreme-ironing-sport.html>? Oh man. So good.

There’s a certain absurdity and whimsy to the ‘obscure sports’ that are just lost when a bunch of huge dudes scramble around a field in tights, trying to smack a small object from each other’s hands. Or okay—not lost, obviously—but definitely not acknowledged enough. Anyways, here are the positions submitted to our Jobs Board last week:

  * Research Data Specialist<https://jobs.diglib.org/?p=817>, Kelvin Smith Library, Case Western Reserve University
  * Digital Publishing and Copyright Librarian<https://jobs.diglib.org/?p=818>, University of Delaware Library
  * Software Developer 2/3<https://jobs.diglib.org/?p=819>, Research Library, Los Alamos National Laboratory
  * Department Head, Technical Services<https://jobs.diglib.org/?p=820>, Georgia State University
  * Art and Archives Metadata Librarian<https://jobs.diglib.org/?p=822>, Marriott Library, University of Utah

View past listings on the Jobs Board<http://jobs.diglib.org/> or by tracking #DLFjobs<https://twitter.com/search?q=%23dlfjobs&src=typd>. If you have a position description to share with the community, submitting<https://jobs.diglib.org/jobs/post-a-job/add/> is quick and free for DLF member affiliates.

P.S. There’s a sport out there called ‘wife-carrying’, where “the prize depends on the wife’s weight in beer” (x<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wife-carrying>). Someone needs to go give the Finns a talking-to.

Have a good week,
Becca
