Have you ever visited a city for the first time and stopped to look for the perfect postcard to send home, only to find that every single one looked like a parody of the card you would want? Who’s designing them, and what in the world they were thinking?? “Ah, le tourists will want to see the Eiffel Tower, oui, but they will really go for a cartoon of a poodle wearing a beret and holding a baguette in front of it.” Ugh.

I’ve always had the same problem finding postcards here in Washington DC—but over the weekend, I stopped in a local shop and found these<https://shop.carmonamedina.com/collections/dcismycity>. I love that they show parts of the city other than the national monuments; bits and pieces of real life that you might not recognize if you hadn’t been here. I especially love the DC Pride<https://shop.carmonamedina.com/collections/dcismycity/products/dc-pride-73> one, and Obama at the National Portrait Gallery<https://shop.carmonamedina.com/collections/dcismycity/products/president-obama-at-the-national-portrait-gallery-101>.

Most people I know will be getting postcards in the next few days. And here’s one for you—last week’s submissions to DLF Jobs:
