IFLA<https://www.ifla.org/> has released the IFLA Guidelines for Setting up Digital Unification Projects<https://www.ifla.org/publications/node/92435>. The guidelines aim to provide a checklist and indications of practical experience for libraries looking to set up partnerships—including across borders—to digitize and share materials from scattered or displaced collections.

Rather than be prescriptive, the guidelines identify things planners need to take into consideration, which apply in almost all cases, regardless of the level of ambition or resources available.

The guidelines are currently available in English<https://www.ifla.org/files/assets/hq/topics/cultural-heritage/documents/digital_unification_guidelines.pdf> and French<https://www.ifla.org/files/assets/hq/topics/cultural-heritage/ifla_lignes-directrices_unification-numerique.pdf>, and a Spanish version will soon be released. IFLA will also issue a survey to collect additional examples of digital unification projects under way.
