This email is an invitation to participate in the DLF Assessment Interest Group's (DLF AIG) working group on UX<https://wiki.diglib.org/Assessment:User/UX> in 2020. There is more information about the group below, but first, a few words about participating in DLF AIG. The only requirement for participation in a DLF AIG working group is a willingness to dig in and devote a small part of your time contributing to the tools, methods, and body of knowledge on digital library assessment. Attendance at the DLF forum is not a requirement for participation in any of the working groups. Additionally, if your institution is not a DLF member, you can still participate. UX in 2020 There is a need in the digital library UX community for high-impact UX practices that help grow UX maturity and assistant practitioners in advocating for more resources and buy-in from their institutions. * The overall purpose of the group is to support UX practitioners working in digital libraries. * Last year the group completed a survey that identified some needs of the UX community, and an assessment of UX success criteria. * You can read more about our group on our wiki<https://wiki.diglib.org/Assessment:User/UX>. UX Goals for 2020 To support UX practitioners by: * Incorporating UX research and design methods into staff members daily work * Exploring development of a UX mentorship program through DLF. * To reach these goals we need people willing to put their effort towards design and getting a mentorship program off the ground, and brainstorm ways to support practitioners How can you participate? * Are you a potential mentor? Participate to help us make this program work. * Are you a potential mentee? Participate to help build a program that would meet your needs * Having problems getting buy-in with your administration? Help us help others solve these problems. * The group meets once a month on the last Friday at 1pm Central. See google group for details. * Time commitment is about 30 minutes a week. * To participate email me directly, or go to the google group<https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/dlf-aig-ux-working-group>.
