Subject: Save the Date: Panel Presentation from the DLF Privacy and Technology Working Group

Hi everyone,

The DLF Privacy and Ethics in Technology (PET) Working Group<https://wiki.diglib.org/Privacy_and_Ethics_in_Technology> will host a panel presentation on Wednesday, April 29, from 2pm-3pm Eastern, titled “Privacy in Practice: Applying the Tools and Resources of the DLF Privacy and Ethics in Technology Working Group.”

The webinar will help our wider community understand and apply the resources produced by our working group over the last few years, including:

  *   Privacy Policy Assessment<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Dvn8IwODkRCUr9BnA44hskJkM4CNWwrYN4o0l0JgUDM/edit?usp=sharing>

  *   Digital Privacy Instruction Curriculum<https://osf.io/sebhf/>

  * Ethics in Research Use of Library Patron Data: Glossary and Explainer<https://osf.io/bygj3/>

  *   Advocacy Action Plan<https://osf.io/2smrf/>

These resources can be vital tools for improving the privacy of library technology, and are especially important in light of recent pushes into new, under-examined digital technologies.

The panel will feature Margaret Heller<http://www.gloriousgeneralist.com/about/>, Paige Walker<https://twitter.com/paginator_>, Michelle Gibeault<https://library.tulane.edu/about/directories/staff/michelle-gibeault>, John Mark Ockerbloom<https://www.library.upenn.edu/people/staff/john-mark-ockerbloom>, and Dorothea Salo<https://ischool.wisc.edu/blog/staff/salo-dorothea/>, moderated by Scott Young<http://www.lib.montana.edu/directory/1524782/scottwh-young>.

If your work involves technology, collections, instruction, assessment, this presentation will be of interest!

Information for connecting via Zoom will be forthcoming.
