Portfolio management is doing the right things, while project and program management focus on doing the things right. Many institutions have a portfolio with a variety
of projects including innovative development pro-jects, legacy systems maintenance, and long term development projects. Portfolio management is likely to produce desirable results when there is a defined process that aligns the project execution with the institution’s
strategy.
This class will cover concepts of managing projects portfolio aligned with the institutions’ strategy; governance for portfolio planning and management; assessing
the active portfolio and making an informed decision on new additions to the portfolio; and tools for communicating the port-folio progress to the stakeholders and related committees.
