Our next virtual DLF Museums Cohort call takes place on

Wednesday, October 27, at 2 pm ET/11 am PT.

Join the DLF Museums Cohort in October for a lightly moderated discussion about the DLF Digital Accessibility Working Group's webinar, "Inclusive Design and Accessible Exhibits: Some Guidance for Libraries, Galleries, and Museums," presented by Sina Barham, accessibility consultant, computer scientist, researcher, speaker, and entrepreneur. This webinar reviews principles of universal and inclusive design through the lens of GLAM exhibits, interactives, and performances. The webinar is available to view on CLIR/DLF's YouTube channel (slides and transcript available here).

Attendees are encouraged to watch the webinar or review the transcript ahead of Wednesday's call. We'll discuss topics covered in the webinar, as well as what kind of inclusive design we are (or aren't) implementing in our own institutions.

Looking Back / Looking Ahead

Last month: In September, the Museums Cohort held an informal, lively chat about the current professional landscape for arts and cultural heritage workers in digital libraries. Catch up on the conversation with our running shared agenda and meeting notes document.

Next month: Join DLF's Museums Cohort for a special #DLFforum edition of our monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 3! We'll introduce the Cohort to Forum attendees and discuss opportunities for community involvement as well as take feedback from the group on community interests to guide planning and programming for 2022. We'll then hear from community member Sumitra Duncan from the New York Art Resources Consortium (NYARC) and Frick Art Reference Library along with colleagues from the Internet Archive to discuss the joint Internet Archive/NYARC project, Consortial Action to Preserve Born-Digital, Web-Based Art History & Culture.

You MUST be registered for the DLF Forum to attend this final DLF Museums Cohort call of 2021! Cohort meetings will resume on January 26, 2022.
