Stanford University’s Lane Medical Library seeks a detail-oriented, user-centered professional to implement sustainable, reliable, and extensible information systems. Reporting to the Director of Resource Management, the Systems Librarian is responsible for Lane’s core resource management tools to ensure discovery and delivery of collections. They will collaborate extensively with colleagues across the Stanford Libraries and hold a key leadership role in re-defining workflows and processes as part of Lane’s implementation of and migration to new systems, such as a cloud-based library services platform. Duties include: Serve as the subject matter expert for the School of Medicine’s existing library systems Support research, clinical, and education needs of the University and Hospitals by ensuring that the library’s catalog database and related services and systems are maintained, updated, and enabling successful delivery of physical and digital collections to users. Make recommendations for the upgrade of electronic and manual resource tools. Collaborate with library faculty and staff across Stanford University, as well as with external vendors on various implementation projects; such as migrating to the FOLIO platform Analyze the technical and access needs for a unit of the library system, including the environmental conditions of storage and workspaces. Use a variety of software tools to extract, manipulate, and report data from various sources Make recommendations to leadership team and department directors on policies and operational changes and advancements related to Lane’s various systems, including but not limited to systems administration decisions and ongoing maintenance in FOLIO. Develop instructional materials, training and job aids. Advise and train staff, faculty and students to become efficient with new systems and adapted workflows.
