DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
At the California Digital Library (CDL), we believe that the library, in all its forms, enables and advances the critical work of students, scholars and the public. As a University of California systemwide library, CDL provides services to and on behalf of the UC system as a partner and collaborator to the UC campus libraries. As a globally-connected digital library, CDL occupies a unique position between the local UC campuses and the global digital library infrastructure. The user base for CDL services and programs includes UC faculty, students and library staff; the patrons of the consortia in which the UC Libraries participate; and the many people worldwide who benefit from UC's open access offerings.

The CDL is a unit within the UC Office of the President, has a staff of 75+ and is located in downtown Oakland. The CDL supports remote work and U.S. based applicants who wish to work remotely will be considered. This position is not available for sponsorship.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Systemwide Data Analyst plays an important role in advancing and supporting data-driven assessment, planning and decision-making at the University of California (UC) Libraries, which comprises the ten UC campuses, two Regional Library Facilities and the California Digital Library (CDL). As a member of the Systemwide Library Planning team at CDL, the Systemwide Data Analyst will co-design and provide a data analytics and visualization service for the UC Libraries utilizing data stored and originating in the Systemwide Integrated Library System (SILS) as well as a wide variety of additional public and proprietary data sources. This service will support the work of systemwide leadership and planning (e.g., the UC Council of University Librarians) across a broad range of topics and areas of shared interest; it will also support campus-specific understanding of systemwide data. The analyst will perform and communicate complex data analyses to support library planning, proposal development and transformation broadly, and will partner and collaborate with the SILS governance structure and operations center, and with assessment, data and analytics coordinators at CDL and across the system.
