Currently reporting to the Associate Dean, the Access Services Manager manages the day-to-day operations of functional areas within the Access Services division. The Library Access Services Manager has overall responsibility and accountability for providing planning and direction [EM1] within the department, with an emphasis on ensuring quality service for patrons. The scope of responsibility includes Circulation and Interlibrary Loan. Participates in the development, recommendation, and administration of division policies, procedures, and processes. Works collaboratively with College departments, the community, and/or external agencies. Supervises and evaluates 7 direct reports and serves on Library committees as requested. The Library Access Services Manager should be a team-builder with deep experience serving diverse populations in changing student populations and a keen interest in advancing and enhancing the department’s focus on equitable practices, diversity, and inclusion. The manager should be committed to creating a welcoming environment for all stakeholders and be able to lead a committee on building safety and operations. Additionally, the Access Manager will contribute to student success by:
 

· Analyzing and managing workflows and processes to improve delivery, speed, effectiveness, and accuracy of resource sharing, including working with consortium partners.

· Working with colleagues to develop a team environment that embraces diversity, inclusiveness, equity and a sense of belongingness for students.

· Working with the Access Services team to promote a student-centric focus.

· Conducting regular needs assessments, developing timelines, and implementing change and quality control activities for the service desk.

· Making suggestions for library services hours for maximum student access and efficient services.

The regular schedule for this position may include work on holidays, inclement weather, and official University closings. The Access Services Manager will also be scheduled to work in rotation with circulation staff during extended hours for mid-terms and finals.
