Hello, DLF community --


Applications are open to attend a Specialized Data Curation Workshop hosted by the Data Curation Network! The workshop will be held October 26 & 27, 2022 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. Applications are due in less than two weeks-- please submit by September 2!


More information about the workshop:

This free, two day experience will bring together library data specialists, disciplinary and functional experts in a peer-to-peer learning environment for specialized data curation.


Attendees will:

  1. Increase understanding of data curation practices and tools for various disciplines, data types and formats.

  2. Share expertise and extend curation capacity for librarians nationwide.

  3. Meet like-minded colleagues who are interested in developing or enhancing curation practices at their institutions.

  4. Develop or build upon actionable primers for data curation 


Who should attend:

  • Subject specialists and library staff with functional expertise curating research data or other experiences working with research data. 

  • Library staff who are tasked with curating research data.

  • Library staff who have experience working with research data and are interested in expanding their knowledge of curation practices into new formats or disciplines.

  • Those interested in sharing their expertise and developing actionable data curation primers.


Apply now for the workshop at the University of Minnesota! There is no fee to attend the workshop, and the DCN will provide breakfast and lunch both days, as well as DCN swag! Attendees are responsible for paying for travel and accommodations.


We offer a limited number of scholarships to offset the cost of attending our workshops. If interested in applying for a scholarship, please fill out an appropriate scholarship form in addition to the workshop application. These are due at the same time as the workshop application.

  • Diversity scholarship – Individuals from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply

  • New professional scholarship – New library professionals (graduated in the last two years) who wish to build their skills and extend expertise.

  • Student scholarship – Students currently enrolled in an accredited Masters of Library Science or Information Science program.


Application Timeline:

  • Applications, including scholarship applications, due September 2

  • Applicants will be notified of status on September 16

  • Registration / confirmation required by September 30
