As part of the IMLS grant “Developing Specialized Data Curation Training to Address Needed Expertise in Focused Areas“ (RE-252343-OLS-22), the Data Curation Network and partners are excited to work on a project to extend the current DCN curriculum! We are currently recruiting team members to join instructional cohorts to develop data curation training materials for four specialized data types:
Code
Geospatial data
Scientific images
Simulation data
These cohorts will have the opportunity to develop new educational materials and participate in a knowledge network to build curation capacity within the library and archives profession. Read more about the project approach on this recent blog post. As part of the project, cohort members will:
Attend a 1.5 day planning and cohort building meeting in Washington DC on January 25-26, 2023 (travel funds provided)
Participate in a knowledge network made up of the four cohorts in Spring and Summer 2023 and develop new curriculum materials for a selected data type with a group of their peers (estimated time commitment 5 hours per month)
Provide instructional support and participate in a 2 day pilot workshop in October 2023 (travel funds provided)
Publicly disseminate relevant curriculum materials for broader reuse and as a citable contribution to the field
Receive a $750 instructor stipend
If you are interested in applying, please complete this brief statement of interest form by November 4, 2022.
Acceptance for cohort members will be announced by the end of November. If you have any questions, please contact [log in to unmask].
Thanks!
